Doctor Visit

by Nick on Mar.09, 2009, under Baby, Doctor

Well, we had yet another doctor visit today, just two more shots this time, so nothing too bad!  Kaylie is doing perfect, of course, and here are the vitals:

13 lbs. 11 and 1/2 oz.

23 1/2 in. long

She’s growing like a weed and the doctor couldn’t be happier!  She’s ranking right where she should with everything.  Couple of funny things that happened, we just happened to run into my cousin Debbie and the brand new Henry as he was coming out of his doctor appointment!  Funny how we ended up on the same day!  Also, when the doctor was asking how she was doing, she just happened to ask if Kaylie has started trying to talk at all, and Kaylie looked at her and let out a little noise!  We all started busting up laughing, like she was just waiting to let that out.  Good times!

Well, that’s all we have for now, Kaylie is getting real good at this whole sleeping at night thing.  She’s been sleeping anywhere from 6-9 hours a night, so looks like life can get back to normal in that regards!  I’ll keep everyone posted with anything that should come up, we won’t be going back to the doctor till late in April, so talk to you all later!

Two Months Old!

by Nick on Mar.02, 2009, under Baby

Well, not much to report today, other than Kaylie has offically hit the 2 month mark!  Can’t believe she’s already this old!  Seems like just yesterday we were just coming home from the hospital, but as they say, the older they get, the faster time goes by.  I’m hoping that things will slow down, but I’m not going to hold my breath.  Kaylie is doing great, growing much faster than we want her to, but she’s all healthy and doing great!  She’ll sleep through the night here and there, but we still don’t have her in any type of pattern as of yet, so, Kimmy and I will continue to go without sleep.  Next week, on the 9th, Kimmy will start her first week back at work, and Kaylie will also have another doctor appointment, so I’ll update then, or if anything should come up before then!

Favorite Lullaby

by Nick on Feb.17, 2009, under Baby

Most babies, when they’re a bit irritable, want a nice soothing song to listen to so that they can calm down.  You know, like “Rock-a-Bye Baby” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’.  Not with Kaylie, here is what she likes:

Was that a crawl?

by Nick on Feb.17, 2009, under Baby

Well, Kimmy had Kaylie on her stomach last night after she was changing her, just so she could get some tummy time in, and sure enough, she started pushing her way along!  It wasn’t an offical crawl or anything, but she does have some strong legs on her!  She doesn’t seem to like to be all the way on her stomach and she’s so inquisitive as it is, so I’m not surprised she’ll do all she can to get around!  Hopefully this is a good sign and she’ll be crawling here soon, but we’ll see what happens!

Doctor Appointment

by Nick on Feb.12, 2009, under Baby, Doctor, Parents

Well, today was another big day for Kaylie, her first day of shots!  Kimmy also had to go to the doctor, so we’ll get to that first!  Kimmy’s appointment came first, and she’s back to 100%!  All her levels are back to normal, and she’s free to do whatever she want, just not have a kid for at least a year, which won’t be a problem; Kaylie is enough to handle for now!  It was rather sad to say goodbye to Kimmy’s doctor, after all we’ve been seeing her so often for the past 9 months!  She was happy, as well as the rest of the office, to see such a beautiful little girl!

After Kimmy’s appointment, we ran by work again for a bit, sadly we didn’t get to see everyone we were going to try and see to do lack of time, but have no fear!  We’ll come back again!

Now for Kaylie!  The appointment went quick and the doctor is very pleased with how she’s doing!  Clean bill of health and she had to get 3 shots, and one immunization was given to her by mouth.  She handled the shots alright, and calmed down rather quickly; she was confused at first by the one she had to take by mouth, guess she’s only used to formula!  Here are her vital stats: 11 lbs. 4 oz. - 22 1/2 inches long - 39.5 cm for her head.  So all in all, Kaylie is perfect, and we’ll go back to the doctor in 4 weeks!

I’ll update as anything should happen, she’s reacting well so far to the shots, just a bit of irratability, so hopefully all will be well!

Kaylie’s First Big Trip!

by Nick on Feb.10, 2009, under Baby

Well, Kaylie had a very busy day today; Kimmy and I took her up to work with us today!  I had a meeting that I had to go into the office for today, so Kimmy and Kaylie decided to go along with me!  While I was in the meeting, Kimmy took care of showing her around her area, and when I was done we made our way around the rest of the building.  Needless to say, Kaylie is rather popular!  She was happy to see everyone she could today, even though she was asleep for the later half of her meet and greet, but she sends her best to all :-)  We’d like to thank everyone for the kind comments, and we’ll be back again this Thursday!  Both Kimmy and Kaylie will have doctor’s appointments then, and we’ll have time to kill between the appointments, so look for an update then!

One Month Old!!

by Nick on Feb.02, 2009, under Baby

Well, here we are, February 2nd and Kaylie is offically one month old!  I still can’t even grasp the fact that she’s here yet, let alone being one month!  All is going well thus far and with her, still eating like a horse and keeping us up way too late!  She’s learning to sleep a bit more through the night, just taking us about 3-4 hours to get her to that point!  Also sad that the Cardnials didn’t win for her yesterday in the Super Bowl, but we can’t win the all, I guess.  Any who, here’s to one month and many more to go!

Maintenance Notes

by Nick on Jan.27, 2009, under General Information

Just a side not unrelated to Kaylie, I’m going to be switching web hosts here in the coming weeks, and the site might be down for a bit, I’m hoping that I can make it go without interruption, but if the page goes down for a bit, don’t be scared! I’ll be back!

I’m also going to be changing the address to this place, so you’ll want to update your bookmarks that you have saved. The page is currently: http://www.lithiumproductions.com/baby and I will change it to: http://dol.lithiumproductions.com. I will have a redirect page in place to take you to the other page just in case!

I will also be changing the look of the place to help make the layout a bit better, I know people have had some hard times with where to login and how to leave comments and so forth, so hopefully this will help with that! If you have any concerns or questions, just let me know.

Thanks!

First Reaction Smile!

by Nick on Jan.27, 2009, under Baby

Well, Kaylie is really starting to wake up and get out of her, as I call it, “sack of potatoes” stage. Kimmy was holding her in the kitchen and kept trying to get her to smile and told me to smile at her, so I did. I put on a big ol’ smile and kept saying hi to her, and sure enough, she smiled right back at us! She’s definitely starting to wake up a lot more, being a bit more on the fussy side than we like, and keeping us up at night, but it’s fun seeing her grow! More to come as it happens!!
